Sermon Poem- 1 Peter 1:6-9

Sermon Poem- 1 Peter 1:6-9

This is the first of what I hope will be a series of poems inspired by my Sunday Morning Worship. These poems themselves have been, and will continue to be, an act of continued worship from me, and I pray they may edify you in some small way.

Thrown from a fire,
A sharp spark
Lands on my hand.
Small heat.

I shake and wince.
A quiet curse
Comes from my lips.
Small hurt.

What is a spark?
A brief sting
Met with frustration,
Anger.

Trials will come,
Many and strong.
How will I meet them?
Help me.

Oh God, in Power
And Gracious,
Proffered strength,
Lead me.

In this I gain,
Through grief
And all dangers,
Great Joy.
